10 Useful Shortcuts in the AE timeline

After Effects has a large amount of keyboard shortcuts to help speed up your workflow in the timeline. See a few favorites listed below.

  • Press B in the timeline to move the beginning of the work area to the playhead (CTI)
  • Press N to move the end of the work are to the playhead (CTI)
  • Press [ to move the in point of a selected layer to the playhead (CTI)
  • Press ] to move the out point of a layer to the playhead (CTI)
  • Press Opt/Alt+[ to trim the in point of a layer to the playhead (CTI)
  • Press Opt/Alt+] to trim the out point of a layer to the playhead (CTI)
  • Press Cmd/Ctrl+[ to move a selected layer backward
  • Press Cmd/Ctrl + ] to move a selected layer forward
  • Press Cmd+Right arrow to move the playhead 1 frame ahead
  • Press Cmd+Left arrow to move the playhead 1 frame back

    Τodɑy, I wеnt to the beach with my children. I found a sea
    shell aand gaѵe it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed thee shell to her ear and screamed.

    There wɑs a hermit crab inside ɑnd itt pinched her ear.
    She never wants to go ƅaсk! LoL I know this is totally off
    topic but I had to tell someone!
