How to create a video story with Premiere Pro, Part 5 of 6

This is part five of a six part series.  Adobe had us record it for the offical Creative Cloud Learning Center.  This is a great way to get started with Adobe Premiere Pro (but we did sneak in a few advanced tips too).  There are also hands on files so you can get some real practice. Be sure to watch part 4.

If not done to excess, using effects and transitions can improve the look of your video and give it a more professional feel. In this video tutorial, we’ll make some simple exposure, color and tonal adjustments to your video using effects. We’ll apply transitions between clips to help convey changes in time or location between the video shots. As a bonus, we’ll use keyframes to animate a pan and zoom on one of the photos.

  • Add an effect (0:22)
  • Apply transitions (3:06)
  • Scale images (5:12)
